Leslie Fetzer wins National Online K-12 Teacher of the Year award!

One of McKenzie's own, Leslie Fetzer, has just won the online teacher of the year award for the K-12 grade levels. Leslie teaches biology at North Carolina Virtual Public school working with grades 10-12. This is quite an honor and we are very proud of her!

Leslie has taught in traditional classrooms but made the change to online. She has been in her current position for three years. She is able to tailor her learning plans to each student. More and more people are registering for online courses and certifications, so Leslie is at the cutting edge of educational technology.

Friends and neighbors:  the dog poop in the neighborhood is out of control. It was never our strength, but it’s gotten worse in the past few months.  I live on Spence Plantation Ln, and around my property, dogs have now begun to poop recklessly on the streets and lawns.  Their mess is abandoned, for others to clean up. It’s a problem throughout the neighborhood -- Olde McKenize is even worse than Spence Plantation. So can you help me with two things?

1. Please do your part and pick up after your dog.
